Use OEM filter, they are better than K&N and are very affordable, I usually order 5 at a time from Toyota
Yeah on a vertical filter, i always put a bit of fresh oil on the rubber gasket so why not fill up the filter while at it. I put just a little bit in horizontal filters and for the top mounted filter on my ancient toyota I pat it and wish it luck
I’ve always used 5w40 liquimoly with either a k&n or Mann filter.
all my Toyotas have had free oil changes and 2 tire rotations per year with Platinum Family Plan.
after I reached 120k miles on my last 2 trucks I did it myself . Oil Filter OEM Toyota were 8-10$ and 35$ for 6 quarts of Full Synthetic Oil
I've done Blackstone reports on my 2012 sequoia 5.7L for the last 6 years I've owned it (now at 140k miles). They always say I'm good with my 10k mobile one oil/Toyota filters and reports are always good.
I bought my oil online, liqui moly 5w30 at $113 and had it changed at jiffy lube for $25. 2013 535i.
$113 including a Fram oil filter.
Dealerships will use their branded parts, which is the OEM (manufacturer) provided part. For example during a oil service, Toyota will use their Toyota/Lexus branded oil filters that come in the little red/white box with brand stamping all over it.
Toyota filter 6 bucks and Walmart Mobil one 26 for 5 quarts do it for less than 50 bucks
Liqui moly ....run engine get hot pour in a can of ligui moly let run 10 mins drain oil replace filter and oil run vehicle 2500 miles repeat process
I did change mine also on 1600km. I noticed that while the engine oil that drained was clear visibly, the oil that came out with the filter was a lot darker. Is this normal for 1600 km or the first oil change is really needed?
