I think the only difference is lifespan and reliability. I wouldn't cheap out on plug-on-coils because the budget companies don't take as much care with the wire insulation (apparently 2 different temperature ratings are acceptable, and the cheap companies use the lower temperature), coil material, or the epoxy that coats and insulates everything isn't as good or isn't applied as well.
I went with (6 of each) Delphi GN10168 coils & NGK 2262 spark plugs. $150 with 5% discount + shipping. I hope I made a wise decision.
