Ignition coil Bosch or NGK

Bosch Ignition coil

For a simple, plug and play upgrade for the ignition coils, the Bosch coils from an Alfa Romeo 4C are better than the stock Beru coils or the Mopar coils found in the Dodge Dart.

Pros: simple plug and play, better than stock coils

Your repair is reasonable in Canada or the USA. For those that don't know what a base Jetta coil pack and wires looks like, here's a link to FCP : VW Ignition Coil Service Kit - Bosch KIT-032905106FKT3 | FCP Euro https://share.google/2UaBCZUOxCYsInqvp

Do not buy shitty eBay “performance” coils for a 1.4 touran. Just go to a motor factors and buy a reputable brand like Bosch.

Pros: reputable brand
Cons: shitty eBay performance coils
Vehicle: Volkswagen Touran

The coils are Bosch and I assume the OEM from factory. I know they car is 18 years old, and I don't mind replacing them, but I'm curious if age, and not just mileage, plays a factor in coils and spark plugs. Manual says change spark plugs at 100k and it seems unusual to me for coils to fail with so few miles on them. I've had several other cars with over 150k miles that never had a failed coil, and one car even had over 250k miles (and about 25 years old). Could there be something causing these coils to fail prematurely? Should I look for a different brand than Bosch?

Cons: premature failure, unusual failure
