There are no alternatives. It’s OEM Hella or Chinese crap. There are no options in the middle. There used to be DJ Autos but have been long discontinued.

Get a set of Hellas. Restore them. It’s the best option and you’ll have great headlights for life

Pros: great headlights for life
Cons: no alternatives
Vehicle: BMW

significantly better than the Sylvania OE ones for light output, but with an OE style cutoff so you don’t blind other drivers.

Pros: better light output, OE style cutoff

LED headlights that replace the rectangular sealed beams can probably be aimed. That's the only good things about them. They won't provide any more light than sealed beams if they are road legal.

Pros: can probably be aimed
Cons: won't provide more light

Hella Headlights

I had this on my f10 2014 535. I have the leds and it was 2400 for the headlight plus 500-600 each for the two control modules. You might be able to reuse the modules if the pins aren’t corroded.

Pros: reuse modules if possible
Cons: expensive, modules corroded
Vehicle: BMW

this is not normal and happens only on modern made Hella headlights which are garbage. You will also experience extreme fading of the lens in a few years and a circle burned in from the projector shine. I've also heard about the inner black piece fading but can't say for sure because I haven't seen it myself (the other issues - I have) The quality has dropped insanely since the cars production era.

Cons: poor quality, lens fading, projector burn, quality decline

Depo Headlights

I just installed depo and had a similar issues. Ended up having to test each pin in the connector individually to match everything up properly. The diagrams online and even that came with the kit are all wrong for some reason.

Cons: incorrect wiring diagrams, difficult installation
