My current favorite is valvoline 5w30 full synthetic. There are oil analysis of new that show it has a high 100 C viscosity and it has a ton of really good additives.

Pros: good additives, high viscosity

I personally run the valvoline, seems to be a tad quieter on the valvetrain.

I recommend checking your oil level at 3000 miles because some vehicles burn oil. BMW and Audi especially, at 1500~2000miles I will top off.

Pros: check oil level

Cons: vehicles burn oil

Valvoline VR1 has zinc and they make a 20w50 for "race" application.

I use valvoline 5w-30 full synthetic in my g35. Runs great

Valvoline VR1 for the track car. Valvoline VR-1 is a very highly reviewed oil with a high zinc content to keep race engines running with very minimal wear.

Pros: minimal wear, high zinc
