Engine oil Shell or MOTUL

Shell Engine oil

Nothing goes into my trucks other than Rotella T6. It's a great oil, so oil changes can be spaced out over a longer period.

Pros: great oil, longer intervals

MOTUL Engine oil

Motul testing came back and it’s pretty impressive. Definitely gives Valvoline max life a run for its money.

Pros: pretty impressive

Rotella T4 15w-40 in my E32 735iL. Been running the E30 on the same oil for 6 years and the E32 for two. They both seem to like them, so I don’t see any need to change things up.

Pros: seem to like them
Vehicle: BMW

MOTUL Engine oil

If you want the best oil money can buy, read up on synthetic bases and high temperature shear strength. Oil is cheap, engines aren't, so ponying up for a tier 4 or 5 base oil like Motul, Amsoil or Redline makes sense.

Pros: best oil money can buy
Cons: oil is cheap
