Engine oil RED LINE or IDEMITSU

RED LINE Engine oil

Redline 10w30 full synthetic if I know I'm going to beat the piss out of it for the next 5k miles (think autocross or mountain runs), otherwise I use Honda 10w30 full synthetic.

Pros: good for autocross
Mileage: 5000 km

RED LINE Engine oil

I do not use auto oil. Motorcycles run hotter and I don’t trust car oil. I use Red Line. They sell a V-Twin kit that has engine oil primary oil and transmission oil, and fuel system cleaner. I buy one each spring.

IDEMITSU Engine oil

I think Idemitsu is the better option if you have access to it. Mostly because it was developed for the rotary engine.

Pros: developed for rotary engine
Cons: hard to find

If you can use Redline 5w30, go right ahead. You will not have an issue. I call Redline the guarantee oil. I can pretty much guarantee that you will never have the dreaded lifter tick. It has been known to quieten a ticking engine too.

Pros: guaranteed lifter tick prevention
Cons: can be expensive

It's recommended by Nissan to use ester based oil. I use redline 5w-30. Pricey but I feel the difference and motor runs flawless imo

RED LINE Engine oil

Using Redline 5w-50 on my E90 M3. it's supposed to have a similar viscosity at high temps as most 60wt oils. Comes up to operating temp faster and doesn't overheat.

Pros: high quality, doesn't overheat
Vehicle: BMW

RED LINE Engine oil

The best oil to use is the RedLine full synthetic two-stroke Racing oil. Modern full synthetic two stroke oils are way better than older oils and work great.

Pros: works great, way better
Vehicle: Saab
