5w40 for sure, my engine sounds happier, quieter, more sound than it did when the PO had 5w30 in it. So 5w40 is a given especially since you have a lot of Km on the clock, when it comes to the brand it really doesn't matter especially if you keep the oil change intervals reasonable.

Pros: engine sounds happier, quieter
Vehicle: BMW
Mileage: 12500 km

RAVENOL Engine oil

So, I recently drove 2 oils: NGN Emerald 5w30 and Ravenol VST 5w40. I watched the oil temperature displayed on the route book display in different modes, but there were no problems with the temperature.

Pros: no temperature problems

I bought this unusual oil made in Germany Ravenol NDT 5W-40...my truck has never sounded or performed better. I was hearing a little bit of top end noise at idle and that's complete quieted with this oil, as well as throttle response and overall smoothness of the engine and turbocharger increased greatly.

Pros: quieted top end noise, increased smoothness
Cons: expensive

Nothing but the best. I personally use Ravenol. I have a bew and very particular about our because of cam issues. I would only substitute this for liquid Molly.

Pros: nothing but the best

RAVENOL Engine oil

I just ordered the ravenol after watching a youtube channel (sergiu gabor) where ravenol yielded the best results of simulated wear indication tests against various oil brands.

Pros: best results of wear
Vehicle: Ford
