Engine oil PENNZOIL or ZIC

PENNZOIL Engine oil

2014 1500 with no tick (85k miles). New to me truck and I’m running Pennzoil ultra 5w20 with a Royal purple filter. I might switch to the redline but the PUP was more accessible to me. In theory I live somewhere it could be super cold this time of year but it hasn’t. Depending on when I do my next oil change I might do the 5w30 if it’s going to be hot for awhile.

Edit to say that 5k oil changes for me max. I did my first one at 4k because I didn’t know what the engine had in it and wanted to get something good

Pros: no tick, accessible oil
Mileage: 85000 km

I use Penzoil Ultra platinum 5w20 and a Mobil 1 filter. No issues so far, but I'm just closing in on 100k miles.

Pros: no issues so far
Mileage: 100000 km

Fuck Mobil 1. Get you some penzoil ultra platinum or better yet some amsoil. They’re both miles better than Mobil 1. I used to use Mobil before switching to penzoil. The difference was noticeable

Pros: noticeable difference, miles better

I’ve used pennzoil platinum or ultra platinum on my 8th and 9th gen si. Never burns a drop in the 3.5k mile interval changes and I beat the thing like I stole it most days.

Pros: never burns a drop

Mileage: 5600 km

I ran Pennzoil XLF in all my two strokes for years with no probs. Good price and readily available at Wal-Mart, Amazon, etc. Quality oil and lower smoke than many.

Pros: Good price, readily available
Cons: lower smoke
