Engine oil MOTUL or ELF

MOTUL Engine oil

I used Motul 300v 15w50 for my track days at Circuit de Catalunya, Circuit de Calafat and Circuit de Castelloli because of the extreme heat.

Pros: good for extreme heat

MOTUL Engine oil

Motul eco-lite 0w/20 bought on ebay in bulk is cheap and it’s a 100% synthetic oil (better than full synthetics). Just posted an oil analysis report from blackstone labs. It’s a very good oil.

Pros: very good oil, 100% synthetic

MOTUL Engine oil

Motul testing came back and it’s pretty impressive. Definitely gives Valvoline max life a run for its money.

Pros: pretty impressive
Vehicle: Subaru

MOTUL Engine oil

If you want the best oil money can buy, read up on synthetic bases and high temperature shear strength. Oil is cheap, engines aren't, so ponying up for a tier 4 or 5 base oil like Motul, Amsoil or Redline makes sense.

Pros: best oil money can buy
Cons: oil is cheap

ELF Engine oil

  • Engine noise:
Rating 5.0

5w40 for sure, my engine sounds happier, quieter, more sound than it did when the PO had 5w30 in it. So 5w40 is a given especially since you have a lot of Km on the clock, when it comes to the brand it really doesn't matter especially if you keep the oil change intervals reasonable.

Pros: engine sounds happier, quieter
Vehicle: BMW
Mileage: 12500 km
