Engine oil Mobil or Mannol

Mobil Engine oil

This is a late response but I just saw your post and it's exactly what happened to me when I took my 2018 GSW 1.8 TSI 4Mo in for the 20k mi service. They filled it with 508 00 0W-20. I didn't catch it until much later and I changed the oil myself at 27k mi with Mobil 1 502 00 VW approved 0W-40 oil.

Pros: VW approved oil
Cons: incorrect oil used
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 27000 km

Mobil Engine oil

I did my own oil/filter change at 27k mi with Mobil One European Formula 0W-40, since I'm a little uneasy about 10k intervals in So Ca stop and go traffic and 100+ F heat.

Pros: better oil change intervals
Cons: uneasy about intervals
Mileage: 43452 km

Mannol Engine oil

Genuinely speaking, it's actually not bad oil at all. Apparently manufactured in Germany, meets or exceeds the OEM spec for my cars. In my 350Z which likes to drink oil, I change it using Fuchs Titan Race Pro S 5W-40 but I keep a bottle of this (also 5W-40) in the boot for top ups.

Pros: meets OEM spec
Cons: cars like to drink
Vehicle: Nissan

Mobil Engine oil

As a Mercedes-Benz guy, I've used Mobil One European Formula 0w40 in them for decades. It is very good oil. I have well over a million miles on Mercedes-Benz cars using that oil with the extended (10K-15K mile) change interval with zero issues. Several of my cars have gone over 200,000 miles.

Pros: very good oil, zero issues

I dropped some 0W-30 Mobil 1 this winter, and my sol with a d15b7 loved it. Made cold starts very smooth, and noticed no reasons not to continue running it.

Pros: cold starts very smooth
Cons: no reasons not continue
Vehicle: Honda Civic

I've used only 5w30 full synthetic (usually Mobil 1, sometimes others) since I bought mine 15 years ago (D15B7). Using the high-mileage variety nowadays, supposed to help out the old seals etc. Just over 150k miles but engine runs very smooth so seems to be doing the trick.

Pros: engine runs very smooth
Vehicle: Honda Civic
Mileage: 241401 km

I was using Mobil 1 fully synth 5w40 on my old cab with no problem at all. good pressure at idle and at 2k. I used this oil in my new cab (same engine) and boom! No oil pressure at for the first 15 secs. Then it immediately jumped to 5 bars and finally settled down to 1 bat maybe less. However, I saw a dramatic increase in oil pressure even with the 5W40 mobil 1 when I switched to a 2L oil pump. Idle pressure was arround 2bars. Although I used it last summer and it worked just fine throught my vacations in Greece.

Pros: good pressure (old cab), worked fine (Greece)
Cons: no oil pressure (new cab)
Vehicle: Volkswagen
