Where I live, my best choices are the Toyota discount charcoal cabin air filter at the parts counter for $44 CAD (#87139-YZZ93, YZZ means "value" or approved 3rd party rebranded as Toyota, only $4 more than aftermarket non-charcoal).

Pros: discount, charcoal
Vehicle: Toyota Corolla
Part number: 87139-YZZ93

I got a 2019 Nissan Versa Note and found one on Amazon for $15. I have a cabin filter that I am going to replace, I’ll Amit it is in an awkward place. YouTube is friend.

Pros: found on Amazon

Vehicle: Nissan Note

OEM Nissan Cabin filter

I bought a second hand Leaf off a dealer a few years back and they called me up wanting to service it for ~$350 & I'd looked at the service schedule & seen it was due a cabin filter and washer fluid check, so I did that myself (tbf the air filter was pretty gross, but only cost me like $30 from SCA)

Pros: easy to replace, cheap
Cons: air filter was gross
Vehicle: Nissan Leaf

OEM Toyota Cabin filter

As a gzg50 owner, I will say: valve cover gaskets, coil pack plugs, suspension bags leaking, alternator, various small electronic gremlins i.e. headrest motors, seat warmers etc. I've had mine for almost 2 years and it's been the most reliable vehicle I've owned. Mine had a very faint cigarette smell but after changing the cabin filter and cleaning the interior I can't even tell anymore. Best car ever made.

Pros: most reliable vehicle
Cons: suspension bags leaking
Vehicle: Toyota Century

Thanks for that, the last two times I had the stupid Stealership replace my cabin air filter, one guy managed to install it upside down, rotated 90 degrees and left the door loose; it was winter and that cold air blowing on my nether-regions was most uncomfortable.

Pros: none
Cons: cold air blowing
Vehicle: Volkswagen
