Cabin filter Mann or OEM FORD

Mann Cabin filter

As for the smell, I would replace your cabin air filter. Your old one might have picked up moisture or some organic material. And if you get an option for it I would spend the few extra dollars and get a charcoal lined one. I should help with future smells.

Pros: helps with future smells
Cons: old one picked up moisture
Vehicle: Audi S4

Mann Cabin filter

In contract, I just bought a Mann filter for the cabin - and yes I know the difference between the engine and cabin filter - but the Mann did not have any such warning.

Pros: no warning label

I really love the new filter I got. Its more expensive than OEM though. The thing about the new filter is it has both carbon and a polyphenol coating. I noticed that when my engine shuts down during start/stop that the air con doesnt have a wet dog smell anymore.

Pros: no wet dog smell, carbon and polyphenol coating
Cons: more expensive than OEM
Vehicle: Volkswagen
Mileage: 17703 km
