for cabin filter I use/recommend MANN activated charcoal filters and use them in all our vehicles.

I highly recommend Mann Filter (OEM for many Euro cars). The Chinese version of the ID4 comes with a dual filter setup. You can buy the two-piece set on Aliexpress.

Btw some brands like Mann Filter include a short manual telling you the direction of the air flow.

This is my brand. Mann-Filter. Easy to replace.

FCP Euro has a lifetime replacement on parts from them, just buy from them and get free replacements of the currently available filters.

Same issue in my 2019 M3. Replace the cabin air filter. Solved.

The air in my Arteon is starting to smell so I bought a new fancy Mann cabin filter from Pelican. All good so far.

I thought the real issue was the fact that the Atlas cabin filter is just paper, whereas they used to use carbon filter in other, older models. Thus, all outside smells can easily be entered into the cabin.

That never got replaced, the filters still look white after 2-3 years in the cars I work on, this looks 5-10 years old.
