Cabin filter Bosch or Wix

Bosch Cabin filter

I have pollen allergies, so a good HEPA cabin air filter is a must. Cheap HEPA air filters restrict the airflow too much or don't work at all. I have been happy with Bosch.

Pros: good HEPA filter
Cons: cheap filters restrict airflow

Pulled the cabin filter on my ‘23 Select . It 11 months old and I decided to replace it with a Wix filter. Unbelievable the amount of debris I have collected in 7900 miles of use.

Pros: collected a lot debris
Vehicle: Mazda
Mileage: 7900 km
Part number: 24103

I got a Bosch air filter for the cabin just 2 weeks ago from Amazon. It works well. Installation was like 30 seconds.

Pros: works well, easy install

Wix Cabin filter

I'm a WIX filter fan myself (though virtually anything that fits properly will be effective). If it were up to me, I'd go with a WIX WP10320. Rock Auto (.com) has them for $15 (+ shipping). They aren't charcoal, but electrostatic which is a bit fancier.

Pros: effective, easy install
Part number: WP10320

Bosch Cabin filter

There's no point in getting an aftermarket engine filter, just get OEM and don't worry about it any further. In all likelihood, Wix or Purolator make okay substitutes, but they're no better and not really cheaper. K&N is going to do a bad job of actual filtration and just get oil up in places you don't want it; they're garbage so at the very least don't get one of those. Stick with OEM.

The "best" cabin filter depends on whether you want any specific features like carbon granules or HEPA filtration. I do want HEPA filtration, so I use the Bosch 6092C cabin filter, but it does have the downside of reducing airflow somewhat (and of course you'll probably need to change it more often.

Pros: good filtration
Cons: reduced airflow
Part number: 6092C

I would not use the Bosch one again. 1) It has a chemical smell out of the box that needs time to dissipate 2) it restricts airflow... that's how it's a HEPA filter 3) Bosch isn't kidding about its replacement interval, when it gets plugged up (and it's fast) you get no airflow.

Cons: restricts airflow, chemical smell
