Brake pads WAGNER or OEM Toyota

i use wagner at my shop. never had an issue in the 6 years i've been using them.

Second upgrade to Wagner Thermo quiet brake pads and rotors.

I just changed my rear breaks and rotors on my 2018 limited and will be doing the fronts next week, I have always used Wagner Breaks and rotors. I have been using them for 20 years and 5 of those vehicles have been jeeps with zero complaints.

Wagner OEX. It's built on a galvanized steel backing plate so it doesn't rust like the painted ones. It also uses a mechanical attachment system to hold the friction material instead of glue, so it won't crack/detach like the cheap pads.

I had this symptom as well 2 months ago because my brake pads were worn out. The rotors was fine so only had to replace the brake pad and the braking vibrations went as well.

DIYer advice: buy Toyota pads/rotors from your local dealership's parts counter. Take a photo of your VIN for the parts guy. Once you're in their system, buying parts will be easy. You'll typically pay 20%-25% more for OEM parts, but do you really want to buy cheap pads/rotors?

My oem brake pads, (‘23 A-91MT) are getting low ish after a year of driving her and going to the track. OEM ones seem expensive but they did last a hpde 1/2 driver a year.

I did a change on my moms 2011 Malibu last year. She barely drives and we live in northeastern MA so after 9 years and 21k miles later they just rusted out. Pads and rotors especially the rear parts. I used Wagner pads and rotors and been using them for many years with great results.

However, on Toyotas, I always pay the extra money for genuine Toyota discs and pads. They’re still made in Japan or the US. Whereas all of the aftermarket options for Toyotas are Chinese-made junk. And since those aftermarket ones wear out so fast, they end up being the more expensive option per mile vs the genuine parts.
