Brake pads TRW or OEM Mazda

OEM Mazda Brake pads

I inherited a 2011 cx7 from my parents who purchased this car new. They have always kept care of their vehicles. This is a non turbo model. Other than normal maintenance items they had replaced the AC compressor. Since I took it over in 2020, I replaced drive side front wheel bearing and passenger front caliper, brake pads all the way around plus normal maintenance items. 320,000km runs perfectly.

Pros: reliable, runs perfectly
Vehicle: Mazda
Mileage: 320000 km

I have Akebono on my 330 and TRW Ultra TXC1171 on my 328, I have to say the TRWs have excellent bite and the brake dust is minimal as well.

Pros: excellent bite, minimal dust
Vehicle: BMW
Part number: TXC1171

2016.5 CX-5 with 89,000 miles. So far I've had to replace the belt tensioner, accessories belt, water pump belt and breaks (technically I only needed pads and front rotors but I chose to just do them all in one shot since it made a negligible price difference since I was already doing the back pads.

Pros: cheap replacements
Vehicle: Mazda
Mileage: 89000 km

Just did the front pads and rotors on my wife’s 2020. Went with Zimmerman rotors and TRW pads and it brakes like a dream, was recommended them from a friend's euro and exotic shop.

Pros: brakes like a dream

Had the same scenario with my cx30 after changing the brakes, only the car messages were things such as engine malfunction and dynamic control malfunction which is ridiculous. Clearing the fault using a Bluetooth obd and the torque app was enough for me, thanks for the post.

Pros: easy fault clearing
Cons: engine malfunction, dynamic control malfunction
Vehicle: Mazda

Changed the pads front and rear was super easy and straight forward. Then after taking the car out of 'electric brake service mode' and starting the car I get the a yellow check engine light and code C05AB, clearing it made no difference. Only thing I could find online was "The electronically controlled brake unit detects that the pressure feed valve (primary side) is stuck ON (OPEN)."

Pros: easy installation, straightforward
Cons: check engine light, code C05AB
Vehicle: Mazda 3

easy 40 minute job to replace brakes on my 14 Mazda 3 took about two hours. It all pops off super easy going great. Go to put them on, well shit they don't fit. Try the other side for some reason thinking I'm just having a stupid moment. Doesn't work either.

Pros: easy to remove
Cons: brakes don't fit
Vehicle: Mazda 3
