Brake pads Textar or OEM Volkswagen

Got the OEM brakes installed not too long ago and they’re definitely worth the install. Two year warranty with them at VW.

Looks like a good project. I would be concerned about what you described about the brakes. It could be alot of different things causing that issue.

I got genuine discs from ML performance for much much less than dealer prices, coupled with textar pads made to the same spec as M4 pads (M4 pads are also a drop in upgrade, I believe textar is OE for M4 pads), noticed minimal difference in performance though.

Make certain your kiddo has GOOD brakes and tires.

Not an actual issue, but an annoyance: The brakes make weird sounds (like bad-transmission-in-a-transformers-movie- like warbling) and sometimes even feel grainy, but the vw mechanics can never identify anything wrong with them. It’s worse in the cold, but even happens in moderate weather.

I have had the Tiguan SEL Turbo for a few weeks now. I was reversing out of a parking spot and the brakes locked up thinking something was behind me. Not a soft brake, I thought I backed up into someone. No car or person there? Did it twice and never again.

Well, I just put Textar pads on and am looking to swap them because they\u2019re super dusty and squeal with light pressure, so I too would love some recommendations.

I recently replaced some on a 981 with Textar and don’t recommend it. So much dust and some noise at low speed braking.

OEM VW brakes are crap.
