I always use Textar - a boggo (albeit OE) brand, and never, ever have a problem.
I just daily my 17 GTI. The stock pads and rotors finally gave up at 103k miles. I was perfectly happy with the oem brakes, but not spending $700. I went Zimmerman and Texstar pads. So far no complaints, they feel like the stock brakes when they were new.
I also have those Bosch pads on my Tundra and they are really good, quiet, low dust, excellent overall.
I think the Bosch pads work fine.
Last year a shop replaced the rear brake pads and disks but since then handbrake never was like before. They kept telling me it will get better which I believed at the time but it never did. Last month I've passed inspection and they told me that the rear left handbrake was almost out of spec and I'd need to check it out although it passed.
So a month later I've bought a Bosch kit, sliders, pads, grease, toolkit etc and replaced the 1 year old ferodo pads. Now handbrake is like it should be and I'm happy with it but take a look at the old pads...
Both inner side alignment pins (caliper side) are bent.

Bosch quiet cast or Zimmerman. Also Bosch blue pads, ceramic if you want clean and semi metallic if you want to stop
bosch quiet cast pads and rotors. changed my life
If the price is right - yeah, but there are better alternatives than BOSCH, for a little bit more. I installed brakes front and rear, new pads, rotors etc ~9-10months ago, they squealed like a pig for 5-6 of them, and I drive quite a lot, not just short commutes to the shop and back. They have been properly broken into, did everything to spec, bought genuine parts, not a knockoff, squealing like mofo. At the same time, I did brakes on my dads car, diferent brand, and price was ~1 euro more. 0 squealing from day 1, even during break in period. Before they were really good, now - not so much. They work, and they will do the job fine, however there are better brands, that offer value for the price you pay. I avoid batteries made by them, because they like to go bad after warranty.
I recently replaced some on a 981 with Textar and don’t recommend it. So much dust and some noise at low speed braking.
