I have the Dynamics Package on my Scat Pack and installed Z23's about 1k miles ago on all 4 corners. The car is my daily, no track miles. I am happy with them for my application. There is a bit less initial bite but I honestly don't notice it anymore. The brakes will still hit like a brick wall if you try. The brake dust isn't completely gone but it is 100x less than with the stock pads. Nothing else really to report so far, they are quiet and do the job well enough for me.
They stop well and the wheels don't get very dirty with brake dust. After about a year, I started to get occasional mild squeaking under very light slow stopping conditions.
They are a little grabby at extremely low speeds. Otherwise they seem to stop strong and quiet.
I am running the power stop cross drilled and slotted with carbon fiber and ceramic pads. But it is only because it was so cheap I couldn't pass it up.
I recommend Powerstop pads and rotors. I’ve had their pads for about a year and the pads are about an 8th worn. They say they’re carbon fiber infused but I don’t know how accurate that is. But they feel great and for performance rotors they offer a lot of bang for your buck.
Im using Zimmerman coated blanks with PowerStop ceramic pads. I've had them for about 12k miles front and rear without issues
This is the pad I'm using on track. I use Z26-1001 on street. If you search by pad on Powerstops site, it shows you all the cars that use the same pad. They don't have the Macan listed, but I can confirm they are the correct pad and you can see that almost every 4 pot Brembo OEM system uses the same pad.
For brakes, I have Power Stop on all of my cars. But I've heard nothing but good things about Akebonos too.
I have Power Stop all around on my daily driver - a Pontiac Vibe base. Z17 Ceramic pads in front, Geomet-coated rotors (note that the coating will wear off quickly where the pads contact, but it does keep the rest of the rotors from getting rusty), and OE-style semi-metallic shoes in the back. Stock calipers. Not sure how they do with more spirited driving, but I think they work very well for my daily. No noise, no noticeable dust, good braking power.
I'm REALLY picky about brakes... I've been down this road more than a few times and finally settled on Powerstop Evolution pads... they bite really well, warm or cold weather, and they don't eat the rotors alive either I think they are the best street pads I've found to date.
