I use and recommend the Z23 Evolution Sport Pads. They refer to it as Carbon Fiber Ceramic. It is incredible. It really last a long time. Has great stopping power and it produces very little brake dust.

Pros: long lasting, great stopping power, little brake dust

I self installed Z23 Powerstop Evolution Sport slotted rotors & carbon fiber ceramic pads kits front and rear from Rock Auto. Superior to OEM in every aspect. Better longevity, quieter, with greatly improved braking.

Pros: improved braking, quieter, better longevity

I replaced the front rotors and pads on my 2020 V60 with a Z23 Powerstop kit I bought from Rockauto. I opted for the standard rotors instead of slotted and drilled. It’s been just over 2 weeks and they are very smooth.

Pros: smooth braking, easy installation
Vehicle: Volvo V60

I swapped to Z26 pads a few months ago. I got sick and tired of the insane amount of dust from the stock brake pads. The Z26 pads offer enough street performance for sure. The amount they dust is a SIGNIFICANT amount less. I have taken the Z26 Pads to the Tail of the Dragon and I have not had issues. I also don't drive the car anywhere near the limits so if you plan on tracking it, the stock pads are probably better.

Pros: less dust, good street performance

I swapped in a set of Powerstop Z26 pads at around 5k miles and have loved them ever since. 1/4 of the brake dust and I notice no difference in performance which includes spirited driving and avoiding the occasional deer. I actually just replaced my first set of Z26s. They had about 60k miles on them with a little ways to go so they hold up well.

Pros: reduced brake dust, good performance
Mileage: 60000 km

In my experience, I went like 70k miles on the factory brakes. I then went with various rock auto/duralast/car quest rotors and pads over the years and they all sucked longevity wise. Maybe half the life. Warped quickly, reduced bite sometimes

Pros: long life of factory brakes
Cons: short life, warped quickly
Mileage: 70000 km

Bought a set of Powerstop pads and rotors for my Avalon. Every single pad had paint on the edge that prevent the pad from sliding smoothly. Ended up sanding the edges of all 8 pads before I could install them. The rotors warped in 20k miles on the front, and 1 of the pads cracked...

Pros: none
Cons: paint on edges, warped rotors, cracked pad
Mileage: 20000 km
