I had Hawk HP+. They were extremely noisy and dusty, very strong bite though. I now have the standard Hawk HP pads, no noise and far less dust. Not as much initial bite, but still really great performance. I wouldn’t swap back to the HP+ after having both.

Pros: less dust, no noise, good performance
Cons: noisy, dusty, less bite

Hawk (no, not that Hawk) pads work well, bedding in process is straightforward, and they only squeaked for a first few hundred miles or so when coming to a dead stop.

Pros: straightforward bedding in process
Cons: squeaked first few miles

I autocross mine. With whatever pads the last guy used and old fluid, I could put the brake pedal to the floor without activating ABS. I swapped out pads for hawk hps 5.0 and put on new standard rotors and now I can stop almost instantly. I very highly recommend the hps 5.0.

Pros: stops almost instantly, highly recommended

I went with DBA street slotted rotors and hawk hps pads. Couldn't be happier. Also way less brake dust compared to stock pads.

Pros: less brake dust, happy with them

I can't recommend the 2nd gen cars enough. I bought my 958 on a whim because dieselgate deal and ended up absolutely falling in love with it. As far as costs, surprisingly in my case, it was "nothing is cheaper than an expensive Porsche." YMMV, getting dieselgate pricing and selling during a boom obviously helped, but I just sold it on Monday after 2.5 yrs, having it from 60k-90k, and trade-in (towards another Cayenne) was more than I had paid. In terms of maintenance, only things not on the schedule were brakes once and the winter tires once, wipers twice, and fixed one broken e-brake and one broken brake bleeder.

Pros: higher quality standards
Cons: parts are expensive
Vehicle: Porsche Cayenne
Mileage: 90000 km

Has anyone else experienced crazy dust from their Hawk HP+ pads? These wheels were clean at the start of the day, and what you see above is after 6 47 second runs.Advertised as low dust, I find it hard to imagine this is what they mean by that. Under hard braking, you can literally taste the dust in your mouth, and the car had a thin film over it. I reached out to Hawk 9 days ago asking for some clarification but have been disappointed not to hear back from them at all. Not impressed with the customer service, nor with the brake pads. They bite great, but the amount of dust im getting is insane.

Pros: great bite
Cons: insane dust, poor customer service
