I put ~$120 worth of good Pagid pads on my 525i and had ZERO regrets. Especially for being freakin' $880 cheaper than the dealership! Brake pads take all of ten minutes to DIY, no reason to spend that much.
I put these on my Corrado along with the big rotors from ECS and Hawk HPS pads. They really stop good!
They also come with Hawk pads that should be fine for street use.
Blank rotors from tasca and hawk hps 5.0 pads. Feels and preforms great.
Hawk HPS... Had them on my Mk5 GTI with ATE Power Slot rotors. I used hell out of that setup at the N\u00fcrburgring and on the Autobahn.
Hawk HPS - not too expensive, great pads and they last forever with minimal dust. I am a fan
I am running Hawk HPS and the intial bite is awesome(eyeballs hit the windshield) even when cold, much better then HP+ that I had before.
Hawks HPS 5.0, that's what I have on my Jetta, that's what I'll be putting on the Camaro soon.
Hawk HPS are decent, as long as you never see winter conditions I hate mine in the winter, as it does take a bit to heat them up (as I approach my intersections going down steep hills). The initial bite, when it is warmed up, isn't as grabby compared to stock also.
I would stay away from Hawk pads. I've never had good luck with them... terrible feel when cold, poor lifespan and even had two sets start chunking and coming off backing plate.
