Brake pads EBC or Hawk Performance

EBC Brake pads

If I was set on EBC pads, I’d get the green stuff as they give the best feel, don’t suffer from long run in times and squeal when cold and wet.

Pros: best feel, no squeal
Cons: squeal when cold, squeal when wet

Go with ebc yellowstuff. If you like to drive a little hard. Changing the brakes on these cars is very easy by the way.

Pros: good for hard driving

Hawk Performance Brake pads

After researching, I'm going to go for the Hawk HPS 5.0 next time I go to the track or wear my current ones down. From what I've read, it's a comparable to the oem feel, but produces less dust, which sounds really nice for my occasional trip to the track and for keeping my wheels clean.

Pros: less dust, oem feel

I tried EBC on one SVT Focus and my first Fiesta ST. Yellowstuff on both.

They're marginally better than the OE ST pads, aside from dust production. They do not bite as hard as Hawk 5.0s or Stoptech Sports (which are my go-tos now; $76 for fronts from Tirerack). They do not stand up to actual track day driving (no one I know who does track stuff uses EBC). They're okay for autocross.

Pros: marginally better than OE, okay for autocross
Cons: high dust production, not hard bite, not for track
Vehicle: Ford Fiesta

I currently have EBC Blues on my BBK and they are pretty quiet and way better than the yellows, for sprinted driving or mountain carving I def recommend the blues over the yellows. Yellows were also obnoxiously annoying. Only downside is they eat through rotors pretty quickly, and the brake dust can be pretty corrosive and damage the finish on your wheels.

Pros: pretty quiet, better than yellows, good for spirited driving
Cons: eat rotors quickly, corrosive brake dust
