I have 28k miles on my 2017 G2, the brake fluid was almost black. I flushed it all out, and I noticed some very minor air bubbles when we started initially pumping the brake fluid. I also switched over to new Centric pads and rotors. Much improved brake feel and firmness
I've been running Centric for a while. Good price, not much dust, they work ok. Not much grab when very cold (ambient temp below 40), but they warm up pretty damn quick, so not a huge deal. Never heard a single squeak, so 10/10 for noise.
Centric high carbon blank rotors and Centric PosiQuiet ceramic pads. Great daily driver combo.
I've got a set of Mintex ones, reasonably cheap and work well for the street.
Last time I did brakes on my Tiguan I did Centric high-carbon, coated rotors and Centric Posi-Quiet Ceramic pads that I got off of Rockauto. They have 20k miles on them now and I have zero complaints. They just do what they are supposed to, and have almost zero dust. Perfect in my book.
my GLI did it slightly but it went away when I switched to Centric Ceramic pads. Stock Organic pads were terrible in just about every aspect. The Centrics fixed every issue.
While I am not overly impressed with the stopping power for the price, I am impressed with how much less they wear after a track day.
Mintex is a step below the OEM Jurid/ATE/TRW pads in terms of friction coefficient. Mintex is an upgrade when it comes to dust. Right now, running Akebono Euro Ceramics... I won't come to my verdict until winter.
Mintex red/Mintex red - mediocre for the street - squeaky on parking brake - slightly less bite than OEM - pads can leave deposits causing warping - very inexpensive - brake dust is easier to wipe off than from other pads
My Mintex Redboxes are ALSO not LOW DUST as claimed by the company. IMO, they dust much more than OEM pads. My Long Beaches always turn gunmetal after 2 or 3 days of daily commuting. Also, the brake pads gives off an unpleasant smell, but not a big issue.
