Brake pads Carbotech or R1 Concepts

I just replaced my pads all around with Carbotech so i get majorly reduced brake dust and just OEM rotors.

I used the R1 concepts drilled and slotted kit with pads. Front and rear total was like 500 bucks. Did it myself. They work great.

If you KNOW you're going to be doing a lot of track days, you definitely want to go straight to some full blown track pads, at least for when you're at the track, along with fluid.

With the XP8s I had, I left early and bed my pads in on the way to the track.

They seem good so far. I'm not very handy and I was able to put them on pretty easily.

Running Carbotech XP8 and XP10 here. They’re great on track, and also very usable on the street. I’m currently not switching back to my EBC Yellowstuff pads because the Carbotechs aren’t bad enough on the street to justify me switching pads (yes I’m a being a little lazy). They dust like mad though and are quite squeaky.

I ran r1 concepts ceramic pads and rotors on my mk6 and they were awesome for all 4 for under $450 with a 20% off coupon on their website

Rotors were getting rusted decided to have them replaced with R1 Concepts Brake pads and Drilled/Slotted rotors. They perform a little better than the OEM with a quicker breaking point.

Pros: they fit perfectly, offer great performance and are cool enough to work on immediately after driving. Con: they sent the brakes for the electric parking brake when I have the cable parking brake. They have been 0 help in providing the bracket to adapt it to the cable break.

I ran into some brake issues. The pedal started getting squishy even in wet conditions. It never got dangerously deep, but it was still unpredictable. In the last session, the track dried up and I was able to push. I experienced somewhat serious fade. I had to absolutely stand on the brake pedal to get the car stopped. After pulling into the paddock and circling around to let the car cooldown, I still smelled brakes for the next 20+ minutes. The pedal firmed up on the way home.
