I've used Bendix for decades now. I think they're a very underrated brand. I've never had any troubles out of them. I was a mechanic for almost 25 years. I've used just about every pad out there. For my personal stuff, I look for Bendix. The reasonable price and excellent quality is what I've always appreciated.
Bendix Ceramic. $20. OG rotors at 140k, they've been turned once and are within spec. Next time I'll grab the DD Centric rotor/pad combo off RockAuto for $55.
I'm still using the factory rotors as they calipered just fine within spec at 132k. I just put on some standard Bendix ceramic for under $20. Didn't even turn my rotors because they were smooth as glass as I live in the south. Made sure to service the slide pins of course. As far as durability, you just can't beat the factory rotors so if they are still within spec, I see no reason to replace.
Basically they feel factory new with a nice progressive pedal dynamic.
I got Bendix rotors and Bendix ceramic pads from rock auto reasonably priced. Works very well
Shoot, I turned the rotors and got Bendix pads from RockAuto. Stopped great and smooth.
Had the same issue with my 987.2 S, ended up upgrading to a GT3 master cylinder and brake ducts, giro disc rotors and RS29 pads. Obviously running decent brake fluid and change it regularly. It’s now great and can handle many laps of Oulton Park without fading.
My 981 Cayman is very maintenance friendly. I’ve done oil, transaxle oil, spark plugs (tight space but doable), brakes, etc. It is quite a bit easier than the 718 since you have to remove underpanels to gain access to the underside of engine/transaxle.
On the surface this looks fine, but w203s don't have fancy brakes. Bendix's for these are only $50-90. So they've hidden a lot of labour in that "pad" price. then they've charged you half an hour to change the discs as well. if the calipers are off the discs take about 1 minute each to change. Then did the discs really need changing? these are basic brakes. you can go 2 for 1 on discs to pads on these no problems. it may be they did need doing, but it may be they didn't. So, I'd say, it's not a rip off, compared to say a Stealer, but there is still a bit of fluff in this.
During braking po maingay like sumisipol pero minsan naman hindi lalo na kapag maulan pero depende padin. Had my breaks cleaned, from pads to cleaning talaga like baklas. Ang gamit ko po is bendix na brake pads, makapal pa po pads.
Macan GTS’ are going through hell right now with PSCB brakes. Plenty of tickets just saying to replace the pads and rotors and customer to monitor lmao.
