Akebono pads are a bit pricey compared to some of the cheaper stuff you can get at your local autoparts store, but they are worth it if you just want your brakes to work well and be quiet. It's what Honda uses from the factory.

Pros: work well, quiet
Cons: pricey

Akebono Brake pads

I would encourage you to pick up some basic tools, two jack stands , and a jack since you can save a lot of money down the road doing your own brake pads and rotors. Don’t cheap out on Brake pads and rotors since the very low quality rotors can warp very fast. I recommend getting akebono Brake pads and a decent set of rotors that’s mid range like centric. Brake pads are very easy to do and don’t forget to get blue threadlocker and to get a torque wrench and a breaker bar. As others have mentioned maybe in some auto parts stores in the Australia you might be about to rent certain tools. And there are tons of YT videos. Be sure to look for torque specs for your car. Also don’t forget to apply silicone brake grease to your caliper guide pins which is safe for rubber boots.

Pros: easy to install, cost savings
Cons: low quality rotors warp fast

Akebono Brake pads

Akebono. They're factory on a lot of Hondas anyways. You can get them off of Amazon for about the same price as the premium pads at the auto parts store.

Pros: good price, factory quality

I purchased Durango rotors and Wagner brakes for my 2015 cx5 back in May 2018. According to my buddy my brakes were only 50%/35%(front/back/) done. I told him to change it anyways since he pulled them apart anyways. That was around 105k. Around Jan 2020, the rear brakes were squeaking. My buddy pulled them apart, and the rear brakes were completely done. The odometer was around 190k . I replaced them with centric rotors and power stop pads. The front was not changed as it looks like 70 left.

Pros: long brake life, good performance
Cons: rear brakes squeaking
Vehicle: Mazda 5
Mileage: 190000 km

I have Akebono ceramic pads on my Volvo, haven't really had a chance for any super spirited driving but they handle regular driving well and are fairly quite and dust free.

Pros: quiet, dust free, good for regular driving

WAGNER Brake pads

Ok, so, at a particular location I worked at we used Wagner Thermoquiets. Decent pads, but this particular location seemed to get the worst quality pads ever. The only way we could keep the customer from coming back was to make sure everything was well lubricated, and we also used some sort of orange goop to stick the brake pads to the calipers. Then we took it out for a break-in session, I believe it was 5 stops from 30mph, gently using the brakes, then another 5 with moderate brake pressure. And if the customer was too hard on the brakes it might still come back.

Pros: decent pads
Cons: worst quality pads
