I noticed a significant reduction in brake dust on my wheels after i switched to power stop drilled and slotted paired with akebono pads
akebono has my vote over TRW. They produced the least amount of brake dust and good bite.
Akebono pads have been great for us, long life, no noise, very little dust, I don’t notice a difference in braking compared to stock
power stop cross drilled roters and akebono brake pads. Got rid of the brake dust with these.
I used Akebono pads and rotors. Excellent combo.
Ended up getting these and installing them over the weekend (Abkebono ASP1210A pads and Raybestos rotors). The pads are super quiet and seem to bite well. Gf reports, "Holy my brakes BRAKE!" haha. Install was easy, the pads fit perfectly and had the correct clips. The rotors seem fine quality seems about right for the price,
Akebono is just as respected and does as much OEM brakes as a company like Brembo. I wouldn’t hesitate to use them at all. Akebono is the brake supplier for companies like McLaren and many others.
Akebono pads. Less dust than the factory pads and still have great stopping power.
Go for Akebono Euro spec. I got Akebono for a BMW and it was brilliant, the Akebono ceramic for Genesis was trash.
Rockauto carries Dynamic Friction kits. People will say "Rockauto is cheap shit" and then recommend R1 Concepts. But Dynamic Friction OWNS R1 Concepts and all of their pads and rotors are the same. Only difference is R1 does drilled and slotting while Dynamic are just blank rotors. So you really don't have to spend the extra money on R1 stuff. Also, you don't need slotted rotors for everyday driving. Heck, even some track guys still use blanks just fine. Only thing to worry about for track is pads, which I wouldn't recommend any of the R1 stuff for. Had one of their pads claiming both track and street but their pad material on one of their pads completely disintegrated on track.
