I've always used Akebono pads for my E90 and F30. Some say they work as well as OEM but produce less brake dust. I've never had issues with them and happy with performance for daily use.

Pros: less brake dust, good performance

Akebono Brake pads

Get the best ones out there which is OEM they gave my 15es250 the best miles before replacement which is 125k

You are saving some $$ doing a DIY job...so spend an extra bucks and get the OEM parts or better which would be akebono proact(brake pads around 100$) and advics high carbon rotors(220$) which again is the oem rotors your lexus had.

Pros: long lasting, good quality
Vehicle: Lexus ES
Mileage: 125000 km

I’ve been using Akebono pads on my Mk4 20AE for a while and have been very happy with them. Very low dust. They don’t have the initial bite of a stock pad but I’ve never had an issue with the braking performance. I use them for hpde track days also. Additionally, very easy on rotors.

Pros: very low dust, easy on rotors
Cons: no initial bite

Project Mu Brake pads

Depends what you're after. If just street with some spirited driving, smething like pmu hc+ or ns400 works. I do track work and used to run hc800s, but got hc+ thinking they are the same. Only 600c rated instead. But, good cold performance, and extra good performance hot. So, they don't wear out super quickly while daily driving. Got quite a lot of track days and driving out of my original hc800s with t3 rotors. But, they are harder to find. Need to get the shape from pmus website, and then find somebody that stocks them. Rhd japan may do

Pros: good cold performance, good hot performance
Cons: harder to find

Slotted and drilled are nice, I own 3 9-3 Aeros v6 and is very hard do stop them, Akebono brakes and Slotted/drilled rotors are cost/effective for me. I definitely recommend it.

Pros: cost effective

Akebono Brake pads

I did not like the Akebono ASPs at all. A distinct lack of bite even after break-in. Went back to stock and all was good.

Cons: lack of bite
