The original rotors had warped on the passenger side thanks to a sticking caliper pin. Decided to just get a complete kit off Amazon and these PowerStops were on sale. So far a month in and these are amazingly good brakes. They’ve broken-in nicely and have already prevented at least three serious avoidance maneuvers here in Denver. Best of all, no more brake dust on my wheels. Everything in the kit was in good condition and it installed in no time; definitely would recommend it.

Pros: amazingly good brakes, no brake dust

POWER STOP Brake pads

Centric rotors and Power Stop Z23 pads. I drive hard daily and autocross with them and ZERO fade. With the right tires you can outbrake the ABS. Just make sure you bed them properly as it's different than other pads. Over a year on my car, close to 100 autocross runs, 10,000ish miles and still going strong.

Pros: ZERO fade, long lasting
Mileage: 10000 km

I've switched over to Akebono ceramic on all of my cars. They make so little dust it's kinda amazing. I would never trust them on a track day, but for daily or light spirited driving they're amazing.

Pros: low dust, amazing
Cons: untrustworthy for track use

Akebono Brake pads

I always recommend OEM pads, but the Toyota pads are going for $80 now for your Corolla. If you're on a tight budget, I'd go with Akebono for $57 at Rock Auto. Buying cheap brake pads isn't advisable.

Pros: affordable, good quality
Cons: cheap pads not advisable

I changed my break pads themselves since the rotors can last a good while, PowerStop Z26. HIGHLY recommend. Great breaking and no break dust/squeal like the Brembos. I kept the Brembos for track days but for some spirited driving and daily, PoweersStops.

Pros: Great breaking, no dust/squeal

POWER STOP Brake pads

I recommend Power Stop ceramic pads and solid rotors. The 6 is an economy car by design. So, there are no practical or worthy trade offs to other types of rotors/material besides aesthetics.Since it's a 16', I highly recommend doing a full brake job even if your mileage is low. If I am correct, the 2016 model has an electronic brake that requires a service mode to be able to do the job(refer to manual since I can't help you on that).

Pros: long lasting, good value
Vehicle: Mazda 6

I have used Akebonos on Jeeps, Toyotas, Ford's, Land rovers and now my BMW and honestly have never had a single issue. The biggest benefit is low break dust. They have always been noise free as well.

Pros: low brake dust, noise free
Vehicle: BMW

POWER STOP Brake pads

I installed the power stop ck8067 and I’m happy with them. I went with the geomet coating to help with corrosion around the bolts and wheel hub; the coating gets worn off behind the pads instantly. Only time will tell how much it helps though.

Pros: happy with performance
Cons: coating wears quickly
Vehicle: Mazda 6
Part number: CK8067

I love my power stop brakes. Got a whole kit on rock auto with pads as well as drilled/slotted rotors. Been running it for over 2 years with no complaints at all, they’ve been fantastic brakes
