Akebono in particular seems to put out an OEM quality pad.
Hawk HPS pads -ECS Stainless brake lines.
Hawk HPS 5.0 HB544B.628 HB625B.760 Edwin Mangune from Hawk Performance Products Group recommends these for our Golf R.
I've always had great luck with NAPA HD blanks and Hawk HPS pads. Been my go-to for replacement/upgrade for years.
I'm actually amazed how little these pads dust considering how well they work. Coming from my S6, where the wheels needed cleaning after every ten minutes of driving, I'm impressed!
All I have to add is that I like Akebono Euro Pads.
Akebono's are expensive? News to me. I keep buying them because they offer no noticeable deficiency in braking compared to OEM in day to day driving, while making well less than half the amount of brake dust and come in substantially less expensive than OEM.
I have had my set up on for about a month now. Stopping power is significantly better as well as way increased pedal feel. Bite is fantastic just with the Hawk HPS that I run on the street and even better with the DTC-30's that I run on the track.
I just finished up putting on the front brakes off a 20th AE GTI, calipers, carriers, and lines with A8 rotors. My calipers were rusted to hell. With Akebono pads all around, turned rear rotors and fresh OE fluid, it stops waaaaaaay better than it did!!!
The HPS were good for the street, dust wasn't bad, but I thought they weren't enough for me on the street, and definitely were not on the track (as I overheated them routinely).
