For the front and rear I got Akebono ProACTs and Brembo rotors for the rear and both are wayyy better than stock in all ways. Quieter, they haven't warped, very low dust after break in compared to OEM, and they have lasted me at least 2x as long.

Pros: quiet, long lasting, low dust
Vehicle: Mazda 3

Akebono pads are awesome. I used to be big on centric rotors but they have change and the quality is not there anymore.

Pros: awesome pads
Cons: centric rotors changed quality

I did a ton of research recently before doing my brakes and almost pulled the trigger on Hawk 5.0. Great overall reviews, but also people stating they make noise at slow speed, like parking lot maneuvering. Also they are great for street/track but for me who is 80% street and the rest canyon I got the feedback they are a bit aggressive for a mostly daily driver. I started looking into and ended up choosing Akebono, they honestly feel just like OEM, zero complaints, and way less dust of course.

Pros: OEM feel, low dust
Cons: noise at low speed

Akebono Brake pads

Akebono Ultra-Premium Ceramic Brake Pads, very well known in the racing community to be the best of the best OE Replacement pads that run on your stock calipers. The only better pads than these require a full Brembo caliper conversion. Buy Japanese. More expensive, doesn't mean better. For reference: I drive a 2007 Subaru Forester, Akebono is the Original Manufacturer for the OEM "Subaru" Brake Pads from the factory.

Pros: best OE replacement, great performance
Cons: expensive

Akebono Brake pads

I was told that these pads and rotors won’t have that intial brake bite like BMW pads do but goddamn. I had to change my entire braking habit just because it really wasn’t biting like I thought it would.

Pros: less cleaning needed
Cons: poor initial brake bite
Vehicle: BMW

GALFER Brake pads

I just switched from OEM (Brembo HH Sintered, I think) pads to Galfer HH Sintered pads. I forgot to scotchbrite the discs and I think I glazed everything up during bedding-in process. I used scotchbrite like mad on the discs and sanded the pads with 220 grit until they were dull like when new, but the brakes seem to have the same behavior - heavy brakes test after 10 mile bed-in ride, the brakes plateau without getting to ABS trigger unless I squeeze like a motherfucker. The previous pads I could stand up on the front wheel with one or two fingers, so I feel like I've done something wrong.

Cons: brakes plateau, ABS trigger
