Brake discs R1 Concepts or Raybestos

R1 Concepts Brake discs

I have used rotors from R1 Concepts for over 15 years, on vehicles ranging from a Dodge Caravan, Chevy Trailblazer, to multiple BMWs and have never had an issue. They’re high quality and good price and I highly recommend them.

Pros: high quality, good price
Vehicle: BMW

Its been just under a week after installing R1 Concept's Geomet drilled/slotted rotors and ceramic pads, I am impressed. Extremely quiet and smooth ride but once they're hot, they get aggressive.

Pros: quiet and smooth ride
Cons: get aggressive when hot

I bought R1 Concepts front rotors for my Lexus IS250 at 85k miles. My car sits at 143k miles 5 years later and they have been the BEST rotors i have ever used. I chose their Geomet coating, and they are so rust resistant it is ridiculous. I have zero rust on the veins or hub of my brakes at all after all this time. I have used Powerstop rotors in the past on numerous vehicles, but I find the zinc coating will always rust after a few years. The R1 Concepts geomet coating is the best in my experience.

Pros: best rotors, rust resistant
Vehicle: Lexus
Mileage: 58000 km

I have R1Concepts Geo-Carbon series rotors (2nd vehicle I’ve used them on), absolutely no complaints from my Giulia. I’m rocking them with Porterfield R4-S pads and the bite in dry is very nice and feels the same in wet.

Pros: nice bite in dry/wet
Cons: none
Vehicle: Alfa Romeo Giulia

Raybestos Brake discs

OEM rotors rust like that in snowy areas, they look unevenly worn. If it gets a little worst you’re going to replace the pads and rotors. Ray bestos makes pads/rotors coated with zinc that won’t rust like the OEM ones.

Pros: zinc coated, won’t rust
Cons: unevenly worn, rust easily
