Brake discs R1 Concepts or GALFER

R1 Concepts Brake discs

Ive got r1s on 3 of my cars and love them. Put out a decent amount of brake dust so either learn to live with it or youll be finger banging your wheels to keep them clean. Working on set #2 on my camry, lasted about 40k miles but i drive hard. Handled well thru the mountains

Pros: loved them, handled well
Cons: decent brake dust
Mileage: 64374 km

I put a predator front engine mount and a Kinetic rear. The mechanics noticed that I had a warped brake disc, they changed the discs for Galfer and the brake pads. I had no more problems after that….

Pros: no more problems
Cons: warped brake disc
Mileage: 18000 km

I was more than happy with my R1 Rotors at Sonoma 2 weeks ago. I felt a bit of pulsing when I got the brakes especially hot, but I never had any real fading.

Pros: happy with R1 Rotors
Cons: bit of pulsing
Vehicle: Ford Focus

Installed new r1 concepts drilled and slotted rotors. After break-in, I noticed a clicking sound from both front rotors, resembling a wheel of fortune. The sound happens when a pad is in. The r1 concepts rotors are dimple instead of drilled all the way through, unlike my previous Power Stop rotors. Brakes feel great otherwise, but this pesky clicking noise when I have windows down will drive me nuts. I may go back to Power Stop.

Pros: good braking feel
Cons: clicking noise from rotors

GALFER Brake discs

I got a set of the galfer wave rotors and they absolutely screamed no matter what I did. I cleaned everything and rebedded the pads half a dozen times and even switched to organic pads thinking I was doing something wrong. Finally just tried different rotors and my brakes were dead silent

Pros: dead silent brakes
Cons: screaming brakes
