Girodisc rotors are awesome and well proven across many vehicle brands.
I'd buy a set of Girodisc rotors. They will last 10 times longer than crap audi rotors.
I did the Galfer Waves as I have centerlocks and didn't want to mess with an adapter. They have been really good so far. I paired with MTX gold pads and braking performance is really good.
Definitely approaching end of life. I wouldn’t have a safety concern just yet but you’re getting close. Go with Girodisc for your next set. They’re more expensive but they are amazing.
Galfer Wave Rotors and MTX Braking Red Pads. Upgraded my Switchblade to 203mm front and rear and added in a set of Red Pads and my SRAM Code R now stop like XTR but have great modulation.
Larger (200mm+) Galfer rotors + MTX pads. This combo is damn near bullet proof.
Reliability and safety are my main concerns right now, so I also have Girodisc rotors
Almost every car in our PCA club runs GiroDiscs, even the GT and RS cars. Never heard a single complaint, and love them on my C2 and GT3.
We are on our fifth weekend with our girodisc two piece rotors. Yes they are expensive, but they are worth it. They are so much better with heat management.
Update for all those following along. My brakes were the best they've ever been today - on a very, very hot day (feels-like temp over 100). I had a vibration with light brake pressure, but pressed on giving more pressure and found that as the brakes got more heat in them, and I went deeper into the braking zone, the vibration disappeared. All was well, but after checking the rotors, they appear to have developed cracks.
