My CRV and Odyssey are on Bosch rotors and pads from rockauto. They’re great thus far. Only complaint is that I ended up using pad clips from Honda because the Bosch ones didn’t fit as good on the CRV but were excellent on the Oddy.

Pros: great rotors, excellent on Odyssey
Cons: pad clips didn't fit CRV well

Just pads and rotors is fine. Probably cheap rotors causing the issue. Go OEM Toyota. Almost positive Akebono pads are oem, as well as Advics rotors. Either way these will not warp.

Pros: OEM Toyota reliable
Cons: cheap rotors warp

My experience with hundreds of thousands of miles on many different Toyota/Lexus SUV’s is to go with OEM. You shouldn’t have to do anything with the calipers unless one is frozen. You’ll know that for sure when you try to collapse them to put in the new brake pads. Otherwise just new rotors, pads and all hardware (pins, shims, etc)

Pros: OEM parts reliable

I replaced mine around 55k miles. You’ll be so much happier starting fresh, no shuddering, better braking power.

Pros: better braking power, no shuddering
Cons: shuddering, reduced braking power
Mileage: 55000 km

OEM Toyota Brake discs

I’ve bought at least 6 cars for family/friends using Cinch and have found them to go above any other standard I’ve come across in 40 yrs in the motor trade. A few yrs back bought my mum a 3 yr old Aygo with 9,000 miles on the clock and it was delivered with new front discs and pads fitted. I queried this with the delivery driver as I wouldn’t have expected them to need replacing at such low mileage. His reply was “yeh, If there’s Any sign of rust on any brake disc then we’ve been told to replace whatever is needed”

Pros: new discs and pads fitted
Vehicle: Toyota Aygo
Mileage: 9000 km

Bosch Brake discs

After 160k miles, finally changed the brake rotors. Got the Bosch Quietcast rotors and paired it with the Bosch Quietcast brake pads. Was a pretty simple project, and would highly recommend! Haven’t heard a squeak or anything. Definitely “quiet.”

Pros: quiet, easy install
Vehicle: Honda Fit
Mileage: 160000 km

Just replaced front rotors and pads with Bosch semi-metallics. After initial “bedding in”, including some sharp braking from speed and emergency stops from various speeds, I went on a long trip. Straight away, I noticed that whenever I start to apply the front brakes after a sustained period of acceleration, there is a single knock/pop sound that comes from around the front left of the vehicle.

Pros: brakes seem to work well
Cons: single knock/pop sound
