For the new Niro EV get a 027 battery from a third party. I got a Yuasa 027 65Ah for £90 from Halfords UK.
On my Kia Soluto 3 years and 6 months, it was still ok but I got nervous coz the last PMS recommended that I change it already. I switched to Yuasa and I hope this will also last around the same time.
Yuasa has been the best for me. Running in Hondas, kawasaki, and Harleys. Shortest life span was 3 years on a ratbob I built that constantly had electrical issues draining my battery.
Yuasa is top end and I would buy over Bosch! I have Yuasa batteries in all my cars now.
I would stick with a Yuasa YBX3012 - they are known to work reliably in the Zoe so I would go from others experience.
Personally I'd always go with Bosch but recently had to get a new battery for my wife's car. I got a Yuasa battery and so far do good.
Halfords stock Yuasa which I've never had a problem with
I’m just pulling out a 4+ year old Yuasa that only started giving me problems about 2 months ago. Gonna try the $30 Mighty Max special this time since it seems to have some favorable reviews and we’ll see what happens. ????
I have two Honda City and the first one had the battery changed after the first year, I knew this wasn't normal and Honda insisted that's perfectly normal.
It all boils down to the idling stop feature, to allow that feature these cars use a specific type of battery, but even then the idling stop completely destroys the battery, on top of being useless.
Some of these OEM batteries they choose to use are shit.
