Battery OPTIMA or SAMSUNG

I like AGM batteries. Using optimas now, whenever these finally die I'll try another brand. 4 years in now and I can't notice any loss of capacity yet. They work amazing when it is like 0 degrees F, too.

If you do need one, optima is pretty good but expensive.????

I have a VR6 swap that Sal at S&P did for me and we used an Optima Red Top.

I've had an Optima battery for several years. Still cranks my G20 van as if were brand new.????

I run optimas because of the extreme temps here. Can be -40 outside and over 120 in the summers. They've been great for my old 454 powered truck.

I’ve had mine in for about 3 or four years. The only thing I’ve noticed is I don’t have to change my battery every year now.

I always liked Optimas, but I bought mine 2-4 years ago. I heard the quality has gone down but haven’t checked myself.

I have definitely experienced said quality issues on multiple Optima batteries. They all lasted about a year for me.

Haven't been impressed with the quality of optima over the last 5ish years.

Have two red tops in my 05 GMC. Sneaky suspicion one is bad. They were new when I got the truck six years ago.

Went to start truck after sitting five days and it was dead. Meter showed 12.1 and it charged in an hour which is very fast. Truck would turn over but not run. Checked charge again, primary at 12.4 and secondary at 12.7. Swapped places and truck starts, runs, all accessories work now.
