I've had very good results with mine, and I just get whatever would fit a New Beetle TDI. NBs take a reverse terminal battery and it's nice and compact.

Pros: nice and compact
Vehicle: Volkswagen New Beetle

OPTIMA Battery

I have had an optima for my Jeep Wrangler for close to 3 years. Never any problems. I have left the lights on a few times too draining the battery... never any problems after recharging either... not sure why everybody hates them.

Pros: no problems, recharges well

I just pick one up from the junk yard for $15 and they offer a 30 day warranty. You can find a nice optima used for around $60-$80 in this area

Pros: nice optima, 30 day warranty

I have the model 35 and the stock cover does fit over it: As far as long term, I haven't been super impressed... I've had my redtop die a few times over the last few years, not even from extended use... however it did get rid of issues I had with my lights dimming from the sub and if I decide to drive upside down it supposedly can handle that

Pros: got rid of dimming lights
Cons: redtop die a few times
Vehicle: Volkswagen

I had an optima yellow top in my Jeep for 3 years. Then all of a sudden a cell died without warning, leaving me stranded in the desert when I went to start it. I will never buy another one. The duralast I replaced it with has been in there for about 4 years now with no problems. It also cost less than half what the optima was.

Cons: cell died without warning
Vehicle: Jeep

Yellow tops are great, but since they switched the Redtop to the new design, it's a joke.

Pros: yellow tops are great
Cons: redtop is a joke
