Battery OEM Toyota or ODYSSEY
I have one of these and its been perfect for 5 years with a 700watt sound system on a v8 truck.
I have the Odyssey Yellowtop
I was told to replace the small battery in the back with an OEM battery from Toyota (oddly much cheaper). Problem solved. So far. :)
Going with Odyssey MK7.5. The one in my Raptor is awesome 3 years old and tests like it was new. Its not lighter but its a great battery. Try Braille batteries.
I've been using an Odyssey 925 in the Miata with no issues. It gets driven mostly on the weekends and a few times during the week but stays on a B&D 2 amp tender when not driven. I've had this setup for about 6 months so far and it works great for my particular situation with a 3rd car.
The Odyssey PC680 is probably the best battery out there, if you can make it fit. I'd stay away from lithiums, you buy those when you are looking to save weight. For reliable low temperature operation, stick with a lead acid thats had decades of development.
I used straps like the first link when I had an Odyssey battery a few years back. Eventually went back to an OEM one but the straps were an easy solution
I have a half-sized lightweight battery from odyssey. I wouldn't have chosen it, but its never given me any problems and I've been using it for years at this point.
I'd like to say Ive had good luck with the Odyssey but it has maybe seen 100 kms in the 7 years since I put it in so no comment on the quality of the battery.
I ran an Odyssey mini battery in my weekend car, any longer than 2 weeks without driving would drain it. I wouldn't really recommend a mini battery for a daily, if your car doesn't start after 2-3 tries, you might be stuck lol.
