I currently run a Deka Intimidator in my rig and it's been problem free for 3 years now
The price on a brand new Toyota OEM battery for the 2019 SE nightshade edition is 445$ish about 500$ after taxes. It’s designed for the stop start in the vehicle, it’s also backed by a 84 month warranty so you’ll never have to pay for a new battery for 84 months. When it comes to the battery, I would always go with OEM and have a good warranty on that battery as I do not want to deal with having to shell out another 200-300 dumpster autozone battery that has 3 year warranty or less.
Only thing I've added is a dash cam and all-weather mats. 26k miles with the fuel sender recall completed and a dead battery that is a known issue otherwise no issues.
Deka ETX15, Deka makes a great battery and they’re sold under a few manufacturers.
I use Deka for all of my cars and they take Minnesota winters like a champ
My battery in my Toyota echo is from Toyota and it’s like 12 years old and still starting at -35C so I’d say go with Toyota genuine
Deka is the best I’ve found.
I was told to replace the small battery in the back with an OEM battery from Toyota (oddly much cheaper). Problem solved. So far. :)
Yes and you can go the route I suggested earlier, with a Group 47 AGM , Deka brand. I paid $135 for mine 4 years ago at Battery Mart. Fit is good, just add a wedge under the battery hold clamp. Cannot leak acid due to the design. I run diesel farm tractors, too. AGM's are the only batteries I can get a decent life from due to the vibration. The extra capacity over the standard lead acid batteries is great for the cold morning diesel start. My point is that they are quite durable. An AGM for a Rabbit is not overkill when you consider the quality problems in regular lead-acid batteries these days.
Just use a Deka ETX20L. I think they're 15 pounds or so and they're cheap and widely available. Mine seem to last about 2-3 years, although they usually die from me forgetting to turn the headlights off. I was able to recharge my last one using a wall charger and I squeezed another 6 months out of it before finally replacing it.
