My 2017 original battery stayed alive for 8 years and 148k miles fascinated me how long it lasted and the fact that the auxiliary battery is still fine
The factory battery in my 2007 S60R lasted just under 10 years, and I thought that was remarkable. Much more expensive than an auto store battery though but you get what you pay for I guess
I just replaced my 2012 Volvo XC 60 battery. The car has 155k miles and the battery lasted for over 13 yrs. I drive in cold weather for over 6months/yr.
Didn’t even have to replace the battery in that time (11 years).
When I experienced a sluggish start, it was the battery. In my experience, this car prefers Honda batteries. It’s been going strong for 3 years now. It’s also one of the more affordable batteries.
My 3 years old XC60 battery has been diagnosed as bad 55% last 2 weeks ago, I said to them keep it as I feel they are still good and road worthy. Gonna do a snapshot again at another 6 months to evaluate.
And the super small battery…
That battery is absolutely cooked, sounds like the cells have sulfated to hell or there's internal damage from deep cycling
The fact that it's only taking 72-94Wh when it should be 600Wh is screaming dead cells, and that voltage drop from 12.8 to 4v in 2 hours is not normal even with parasitic draw
The battery is trash - if it was at 4v, the cells are either internally buckled/shorted - or the AGM is damaged and thus will not hold any charge (no capacity).
I replaced the battery on my wives 2009 honda accord. Started her up and it made this awful sound the second the AC kicked on. Bogged down the engine and made it run rough. It has never had AC issues until now and I'm sure it's coincidence with the battery changeout.
