Battery OEM Honda or Duracell

Duracell Battery

The best lead acid type of battery is a Duracell/East Penn hybrid/house AGM deep cell. These have thicker plates and are typically used for RVs and boats. They can tolerate deeper discharge and are less susceptible to damage (AGM). They sacrifice a little instantaneous current output, but that's not needed on an EV.

Pros: tolerate deeper discharge
Cons: sacrifice current output

OEM Honda Battery

When I experienced a sluggish start, it was the battery. In my experience, this car prefers Honda batteries. It’s been going strong for 3 years now. It’s also one of the more affordable batteries.

Pros: starts reliably, long lasting, affordable
Vehicle: Honda Fit
Mileage: 170000 km

I’ve replaced several Duracell batteries recently that had been recently installed within the last few month. We’ve had good luck with power sonic, yusa, and first power.

Pros: good luck with Powersonic
Cons: Duracell fail quickly

Power Sonic or Yuasa. Duracell is great for lots of service every year after an inspection. Never seen them make it to the next inspection alive.

Pros: Power Sonic or Yuasa
Cons: Duracell never last

Duracell Battery

Always like Duracell because I hate that damn bunny. But doesn't matter to me right now because my damn RMR is defective and drains the battery in 3 months.

Cons: battery drains quickly
