My Mechanic had me get non-AGM style from Deka. I have the dual battery setup, and have drained my spare a few times already and it’s out performed the previous brands.

Pros: outperformed previous brands, withstood draining

I really like the Deka ETX12. Point is these batteries are bulletproof. They last longer than any other battery I have ever gotten. I highly recommend them.

Pros: bulletproof, long lasting
Part number: ETX12

Have a Chevy Volt. The battery is only good for 22-40 miles depending on outside temp. It gets plugged in at night and costs $14-18 a month. For the past 3 years we have used less then 25 gallons of gas.

Not many cons. The car is much better on electricity than when the gas motor has to kick in. Much quieter and has a bit more throttle response so I don't like it when the battery runs out.

Pros: Much quieter, better throttle response
Cons: battery runs out

Deka Battery

Just use a Deka ETX20L. I think they're 15 pounds or so and they're cheap and widely available. Mine seem to last about 2-3 years, although they usually die from me forgetting to turn the headlights off. I was able to recharge my last one using a wall charger and I squeezed another 6 months out of it before finally replacing it.

Pros: cheap, widely available
Cons: last about 2-3 years
Part number: ETX-20L
