I typically use what is shipped with the packaging. Most of my red dots are trijicon and they ship with energizer so I will continue to use it. I feel the companies do their own testing trail and error with battery life and usage at all power levels under all temperatures.
Energizer. Better QC than Duracell imho.
Duracell lasted 18 months on my RMR 3.25 Type 2 on auto setting, Energizer lasted 23 months on same setting!
Having ran both Duracell procell, and Energizer lithiums in RMR's, the energizers last 3+ years. I've gotten 2-2.5 years out of Duracell.
Deka. Solid battery.
Funny enough I also have an 18 Elantra and had my battery replaced recently from Costco. What I got was a:
- H6-AGM
- 760/120/70 cold crank amps/reserve capacity/amp hours respectively
My Mechanic had me get non-AGM style from Deka. I have the dual battery setup, and have drained my spare a few times already and it’s out performed the previous brands.
Recently i was able to acquire some Japanese Energizer 2300 and 800mAh AA and AAA batteries...from my experience with the Energizers so far they are much much better then any other NiMH battery I've ever used including the Chinese Panasonic NiMH batteries.
Just use a Deka ETX20L. I think they're 15 pounds or so and they're cheap and widely available. Mine seem to last about 2-3 years, although they usually die from me forgetting to turn the headlights off. I was able to recharge my last one using a wall charger and I squeezed another 6 months out of it before finally replacing it.
This is the worst battery i tried, Enegizer lasted less than a year, maybe around 6 months only and it started dying.
