If you have a PepBoys nearby, they have a Bosch that fits.
I have recently had both batteries replaced and the garage I use recommends Bosch as they have a 6 year ' no quibble ' (unlike VW) warranty . They are to the same spec as the Varta batteries and the right one is a 62ah normal lead acid type .
Dude save your money and chance battery yourself. I disconnected battery million times before and all i needed to do is "relearning window position". I bought Bosch group size 48 battery from Pepboys. It fits like glove and has 3 year warranty.
Alright so i picked up a bosch 750 cca battery and threw that in her on another -10 F day, cycled the glow plugs once and she fired up like it was a mid summer day. Hasnt given me any trouble since and its been nothing but cold here.
I'm using a Bosch Group 48 battery (it is 26 months old now) from Pep-boys. Their testing machine result says 'good battery' The guy at the store said, it was as good as a new one.
new bosch battery
Some BOSCH batteries used on VW cars last around 2 years or a bit more but cost appropriately.
Well my Volvo dealership wanted $400 for a battery so yeah... It's the small things that cost the most at dealerships, maybe as a way to lessen to cost of bigger jobs so you're not paying tens of thousands for a major job.
Bosch batteries are no poorly made in china
I've been seeing the same issue with batteries branded under Bosch and Champion. On several cars, I rarely had to replace batteries, now it seems like it is a 1-2 year thing on any battery. They are dying faster without ability to recharge. I just posted in the Scirocco forums that my 3 year warrantied Bosch battery is no longer holding a charge and its not even 11 months since I bought it. Glad to know that I'm not alone in seeing that engineered battery obsolescence seems to have arrived.
