I've used pentosin E for full flushes of two Golfs (2015 and 2017). No issues. Prior to that, I used it for topping off. It's the right stuf being G13 regardless of slight color variation pink/purple.

Pros: no issues, right stuff

I always use g13 from the dealer mainly because they can void any warranty for repairs on your cooling system if they see there is not g13 in there (g13 is pink, other types are purple) and with a model that is known to have coolant system issues, i aint giving them the excuse to not fix something they should.

Pros: maintains warranty, prevents issues

Only use modern Volkswagen G12evo coolant! This is required not optional, if you mix the wrong coolants you can create an acidic meta eating coolant mixture that will ruin your engine

Pros: prevents engine damage
Cons: mixing ruins engine

I've always used the Pentosin equivalent in all my Volkswagens and Audis. Pentosin E/SF. Pentosin SF is G12 (pink) -2005, Pentosin E is G13 (violet) 2006 onwards. Safe to mix with factory fill, of course can always go to the dealer for coolant too. These are concentrate, so you do have to mix 50/50 with distilled water though

Pros: safe to mix, reliable performance

Yes, the documents say they are compatible - at the cost of losing some corrosion protection. Don\u2019t use G13 if you have a choice. G13 becomes acidic and causes leaks, and leaves deposits in the system which cause clogging. VW switched to G12evo for a reason.

Pros: compatible according to documents
Cons: losing corrosion protection
