+1 for Valeo. This job wasn\u2019t fun.
I replaced mine with an oem valeo
Uma pesquisa no auto doc, tens alternadores Valeo entre os 230 e os 350.
Yesterday I replaced my 90A B brand alternator (thank you, previous 8 owners) with a Valeo 120 Amp unit. So far seems to be working fine with 14.15V to the battery at idle and with minimal or max power draw.
Id go with whatever fcpeuro recommends. Aka valeo, bosch (which are both oems)
I just did a standard exchange on mine (Valeo 120A), paid 300€ deposit included, so it's definitely a good deal.
Next and least expensive, would be to buy a new alternator from Volvo and have them install it. It could be that there is a known issue with the alternator that you put on there if it's not from Volvo.
I bought a new Valeo alt cheap because this part was broke. After days os scouring the internet I found two sources, but the would NOT retail the part. They only supply rebuilders in bulk.
This was a new genuine Volvo alternator I had Volvo put in, not a cheap or rebuilt part. Also, the battery is only about a year old. Could this really be a failing alternator or could something else be going on?
The indy shop I used diagnosed it as a bad alternator; I am so lucky ( s a r c a s m ) to have the Valeo (mega $$$$$) unit, they swapped it out a week later.
