Alternator OEM Toyota or Duralast

A 98k on a alternator made after 2020 isn't bad. Almost impressive.

We just replaced the wife's X three weeks ago. Had the same problem you had with a battery light and brake light. Ended going to AutoZone when we were in vacation and got a Duralast Gold and had a local mechanic do the install.

I've been daily driving, road-tripping, and wheeling my 100 from 190k miles to its current 283k. Never once has it left me stranded. In that time I've replaced the alternator

If you go to autozones website and plug your car info in, what price does it give you for the duralast gold alternator?

I’d recommend going by a local Toyota dealer parts department and getting an OEM replacement. It’s more pricey than aftermarket but… it’ll last as long as the original Toyota alternator did.

IMO duralast doesn\u2019t last no where near as long as a good quality Bosch/Denso alternator.

Finally, ordered a duralast Alternator which is expected to be delivered tomorrow.

Not sure what brand of alternator you got but basically all of the reman auto parts stores alternators and starters are total junk. You'd be better off buying a used OEM Toyota one over an auto parts store unit.

Alternator has been replaced 2 times within the year battery is also new and the odds of 2 brand new faulty alternators is pretty slim.

I have a 2007 Chevy suburban and the altenator died so went to Autozone and purchased a new duralast 220.00. This worked for a few days and the battery died again. Checked voltage and only had 9 volts coming from altenator. Took back the altenator for them to bench test and they did not have the proper connections. Gave me another altenator installed worked great for 2 days. This new altenator was also not working and was given a third altenator.
